I worked the Association of College Unions International conference at SUCO, which consisted of me doing some small setups and driving to Howe Caverns! Woo-Whoo!! It was so much fun, even if I was scared the entire time of tripping and busting my face in the cave with my boot.
The next weekend was CORTACA!!! I carpooled with Kyle, there and back. By the time I got there on Friday everyone was tanked. I was staying with Emily and so we decided to just stay up a bit longer and then pass out and get up early. We got up at 9am, had a nice little b-fast and then started drinking. Then we stood for 3 hours in the cold pouring rain and watched our beloved Cortland get slaughtered. However, I always enjoy the frisbee catching dog during the half-time show. Then I got dried off and went to visit the infamous Sean Sherwood. I got to see his lovely little apartment, meet some of his staff, and hug him a lot. It was a most excellent time. Then I went back to Emily's. where the party was already started. A few of my other friends from high-school were there (Gordo, Lance, and Chris) and after awhile we decided to go out for a little bit. I was having an excellent time until Gordo dropped my camera with the lens open. Needless to say I was not happy. So I went back to Emily's for the night. The next day I met up with Mr. Sherwood again and went to lunch at a lovely little place called Hairy Tony's. I had so much fun and realized just how much I missed him. Then Kyle and I drove back to Oneonta and had to pull over along the way because his car was overheating/dying. But we made it!
And thank goodness I made it back, because just a half an hour after I was in Oneonta our beloved JOSIE arrived!!! And everything was right in the world. I got to hug her and love her and dance with her. There was never a dull moment with her around. That girl is something special, that's for sure.
And then the biggest event of the semester (besides Josie coming) finally arrived.....BOB DYLAN. I worked sooo much (10am to 1am) and drove ALL over Oneonta. But it was a great opportunity and an experience that I will never forget. I was only able to catch one song though... Like A Rolling Stone. I'm glad that I got to see that much at least. I did not, however, get to meet or even see Bob D. backstage... but no one really did, so I wasn't too upset. I did get to spend some time with his tour bus drivers, who were interesting to say the least. And I also got to go on the band's tour bus... which was so nice. I also may have made a connection for an internship in Chicago, which is good because I was kind of looking at that area anyway. So wish me luck. I ended the night by going to Neptune for a late night/early morning snack with a few of my favorite people... my boss, Bill, and two of the other techies, Mat and Adam. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful day.
And then there was break... I woke up that first Saturday with an abscessed tooth... had to go to the emergency room to get a prescription for antibiotics and then had to go to the dentist on Monday. I thought Thanksgiving was going to be ruined, but fortunately the antibiotics kicked in and I was feeling better by then. I also got my boot off on Wednesday!!!! Das Buuten and I grew close to one another over the past 7 weeks, but I was happy to see him go. And now I'm working on making my one shoe look like the other one... and in the words of Mike Strom, "lets play the game called who can rotate their ankles."
On the down side I have to have a root canal tomorrow. :( balls. And my dearest Josie left. But I'm trying to remain positive... even if this weekend is graduation weekend and I don't want to think about what that means.
That was a lot to report...maybe I won't wait as long to post next time. haha.
