So I figure that it's time to update everyone on my life. Since I posted last, a bunch of us went out for Cait's birthday on Wednesday, after Cait and I were done with finals. My friend Megan Ploutz even came out with us. It was quite a fun evening, minus the part when Jenn cried a little. Then I spent Thursday night just hanging around, I think...I'm having a hard time remembering. All I remember is that Jenn moved out in a hurry before the snow came and it was really sad. Oh, I know, Adam came over to hang out and Izzy stopped by too.
The next night I went to Christmas buffet at the OST with Meg and Izzy. After a few drinks we thought it would be a good idea to do some sake bombs. fun fun. haha. Izzy and I ended up going back to my apt to chill out and not drink for a bit, being that it was only 6pm. We ended up stopping at Maxwell's on the way back and buying some ridiculous things. I apparently bought the first Wallflowers album, the one before Bringing Down the Horse. I'd never even heard anything from this album, but in my current condition thought it would be a good idea. Izzy bought the Karate Kid and this movie called B 13 (or Banlieue 13)..just to show me the opening scene. I have to admit that it was pretty intense. So after I got ready we went back out to the OST to meet Meg and play some more darts. We finally got bored with it and decided to go to the Oak. I don't remember being there long, but I do know that this was the point at which we went on a manhunt for Meg's teacher Pawkett, who said that he would buy her a drink. He had apparently just left the Oak and went to the Pub. He was not at the Pub, so our search ended there and we just went to Sake Club, where I ran into a bunch of people from my highschool. After this little adventure, we ended the night at Red's *sigh*, where we met up with Kyle and MacCracken and played some darts. We took lots of pictures and Izzy attempted to teach me how to dance (the non-white kind of dancing for those of you who are like "what's wrong with Mackey's amazing dance skills?"). Sidenote: Izzy is hellbent on making me either a better dancer or more asian... I think both might happen. haha.
Saturday, I had to shovel my truck out from the snow storm and then I got ready(aka put on a jacket over my pjs) and went to lunch at Athens with Meg and Izzy. Then I had to say goodbye to my party buddies and attempt to pack to go home. I put it off and laid around for a bit. Then Adam and Kyle stopped over to say goodbye and when they left I decided that it was finally time to pack up my shit, being that my mom was on her way to Oneonta. Things have been pretty uneventful since then, just hanging out with the family.
Last night we went to my Grandparents house, as we do every year to celebrate and open presents to and from them. Most of this year's conversation topic was how I was as a child, which is always fun to hear. Apparently, when I was at the age when you took naps in school, I got two "best sleeper" awards. Which if you know my sleeping habits at all, (Cait and Jenn), then you would now have a better understanding of why I can fall asleep on command. haha. Then we all went home and opened our immediate family presents. (I'm not sure when we stopped opening presents on Christmas morning...maybe when I found out Santa wasn't real...I don't know). I got some new slippers, some giftcards and a little spending money for NYC. Oh and my aunt gave me, my sister, her bf, and my cousins two bottles of wine to help us ring in the New Year on top of her paying for us to stay in the city. And my Grandmother is paying for dinner for all of us while we are there. So Christmas went well, and I am thankful for all of the gifts I have received. I also still have a few presents to mail out (Josie and Heather - sorry it's taking me so long, maybe you shouldn't live on the otherside of the world. hehe) and a few presents that I have to give to people when I see them again.
I also got some exciting/strange news last night. My cousins that are coming with us to NYC have to fly stand-by and are apparently coming into an airport in islip, long island. Which happens to be like 15 minutes from the beautiful Megan Dorak. So, I will be venturing there this weekend..Sunday I do believe, as my aunt has put me in charge of picking them up. So I will hopefully be spending some time with Meg and meeting her family(finally) and awaiting a call from my cousins to tell me when their flight will be in. The not-so-fun part is that I will be turning right around after I pick them up to come back to Unadilla. And then will be heading back down that way on the 30th and 31st. I see lots of driving in my immediate future. But I like to drive, and hopefully the traffic won't be too crazy, being that I'll be alone, and I won't get lost. Wish me luck! Happy Holidays, Everyone!!! <3
